JULIE NARANJO UPHAM

Education:
College of William & Mary: B.A., Government
George Mason University: Masters in Public Administration with a focus in Nonprofit Management

Julie joined the Conservation International team in September 2008. As the Council’s manger, her time is entirely devoted to the management and cultivation of the 20+ member networking Council. Collectively, companies participating in the Council have global sales of $350 billion and employee more than 3 million people.

Before joining CI, Julie served as the Associate Director of Corporate Partnerships for the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the DC region’s business largest region-wide network of business and non-profit leaders. In this role she cultivated relationships with the organization’s top corporate members and developed customized plans for their engagement in the association’s events and programs. She also has a background in regional economic development, communications, fundraising, and event planning.

Outside the office, Julie is active in the community and serves on the board of a local nonprofit that brings playwriting into DC public schools. She has also completed eight marathons, six triathlons and recently finished her first half-Ironman. She currently lives in Alexandria, VA with her husband Chris and their dog, Connor.
