Odwalla Gives Grant to Conservation International

Odwalla Inc. Supports Environmental Initiatives

Half Moon Bay, Calif.—Nourishing the world means taking care of us all – body, mind and soul. After all, it's Odwalla's belief that doing "good business" has to begin with simply doing some good. In this spirit, Odwalla, Inc. made a $25,000 donation to support the work and the mission of Conservation International (CI). Odwalla is proud to sponsor CI, whose work supports Odwalla's own commitment to conserve the Earth's living heritage of global biodiversity and to demonstrate that human societies are able to live harmoniously with nature.

"Conservation International shares our commitment to nourishing the world and our dedication to keeping the earth healthy. At Odwalla, we are proud to be donating to this deserving organization. We believe in giving back to the earth and our communities and supporting organizations who share our vision of a more vital and vibrant world," said Steve McCormick, Odwalla president.

Odwalla has made a commitment to giving at the local, regional and national levels. The company reaches out to organizations that share its philosophy of doing good and nourishing our bodies and the communities we live in. In addition to the partnership with Conservation International, the company launched the Odwalla Community Grant Contest in 2005, which invited individuals from anywhere in the country to apply for 10 prizes of $1,000 each. Grants are being awarded for each month of the contest to an entrant who will use the award for the local community support activity of his or her choice.

"We are pleased to have Odwalla as one of our supporters and greatly appreciate its commitment. Odwalla's gift demonstrates that the private sector can play an important part in conserving our environment," said Glenn Prickett, executive director for the Center for Environmental Leadership in Business (CELB) at Conservation International.
