CI’s partnership with CARE is creating climate solutions that protect biodiversity and sustain livelihoods.
- CARE (www.care.org) is a member of the Climate, Community and Biodiversity Alliance (CCBA), a group of companies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) committed to developing tools to combat climate change, while contributing to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
- CARE’s efforts primarily focus on fighting the leading causes of poverty in the world’s poorest countries, with a spotlight on women’s issues. In a total of 66 countries, CARE centralizes their efforts around women in these communities by focusing on improving education, preventing the spread of HIV, and increasing access to sanitary materials and clean water. Further, care works to expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources in these struggling areas of the world.
