FIJI Water Company LLC

Our partnership with FIJI Water Company LLC is focused on supporting CI's biodiversity conservation efforts.

  • In 2007, FIJI Water and CI began an innovative partnership, as part of that relationship CI will counsel FIJI Water on their sustainability initiative and to develop an ambitious multi-benefit carbon offset plan as part of FIJI Water’s new Sustainable Growth Initiative.

In addition to its offset partnership, the relationship with CI also includes a major program to permanently protect the Sovi Basin, Fiji’s most important forest ecosystem, from logging.

The Sovi Basin, located on the Fiji island of Viti Levu, covers over 50,000 acres of land and is the largest remaining lowland rainforest in Fiji. Fiji lies within the Polynesia/Micronesia biodiversity hotspot – one of 34 such hotspots around the world – and is home to a number of rare and diverse species.
