Ford Motor Company

Our partnership with Ford Motor Company is focused on transforming business into a force for biodiversity conservation.

  • Ford Motor Company partnered with Conservation International to launch The Center for Environmental Leadership in Business. more

  • Ford is a founding member of CI’s Business & Biodiversity Council, a community of companies committed to leveraging their business experience and resources to conserve biodiversity. more

  • In 2006, Ford donated a Ford Ranger truck to CI’s Indonesia office to be used for the country program’s Mobile Education Unit in the Gedepahala Corridor.

In Sonora, Mexico, site of a Ford Motor Company manufacturing plant, Ford is working with CELB and other large water users to promote conservation of scarce freshwater resources.

  • The CI-Ford partnership began in 1995 when Ford contributed to support CI’s work in Brazil. In addition, Ford and CI launched the Ford Motor Company Conservation Award, which recognizes local leaders in conservation. Based on the success of this initial work, Ford expanded their support to initiatives in other regions, such as the Gulf of California and the cloud forests of southeastern Mexico.
